Ceremonial Cacao
Ceremonial-grade cacao is sourced exclusively from Incan and Pre-Incan varietals of Peru, predominantly using Chuncho cacao that grows natively in the highlands of the Andes. No other cacao grows at such a high altitude, resulting in more cacao butter in the bean and one of the most complex and concentrated phytochemical and flavor profiles. Domesticated by the Machiguenga people, ancestral inhabitants of this region, this cacao is fermented in Tornillo sweet wooden boxes in its native habitat.
Our cacao powder retains unprecedented levels of up to 30% cacao butter—the first to retain such a high naturally occurring fat content. Cacao butter is not only a highly beneficial compound that is part of the cacao bean, but also serves as an ideal lipid-based delivery system for the phytocompounds in Cacao Chai, maximizing their bioavailability and potential.

This is not your typical cacao, nor chai blend. It combines the purest, highest grade cacao powder (organic, ceremonial grade from Peru) with traditional chai spices (organic ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, etc) minus the usual addition of black tea, hence it is caffeine-free. This makes it extremely versatile. Enjoy as-is out of the package with steamed milk and honey, or add to your coffee, or mix 50/50 with Pique Nandaka (which is what I make for my college student daughter who needs the energy and focus boost during final exams but does not drink coffee ). For a more traditional take on chai - mix this in with Pique black pu’er tea, or Earl Grey tea. I’ve even added it to my Pique Electric Turmeric tea to make a „golden chai” version. Please note - with zero added fillers, this stuff is potent! Meaning - a little will go a long way. And I highly recommend it enjoyed hot with your favorite steamed or foamed milk / nut milk / coconut milk. A little honey really rounds out the flavor (which I add for the kids but skip for myself). Serve in a large mug or glass tumbler.

I was using plain raw cacao to make a warm drink, and that was great. Then I tried this and have switched. Rich and flavorful with everything good included. Use the whisk and stir into warm oat/nut milk. So good for you.

Yes it is! The Cacao Chai is caffeine-free.
A decadent blend of chocolate and chai spices, this beverage tastes like slightly spiced, dark chocolate in a cup. Perfect with milk (or milk alternative added) and iced, if desired.
Both the cacao and chai dissolve best in hot water so we recommend using hot water first. After using a small amount of hot water, you can easily fill up the remainder of your cup with cooler water, milk of your choice and/or ice for a delicious iced beverage.
